Rove Kyoto is partnering with Teakan Tea Co., a local boutique tea company based in Vancouver, for a hands-on workshop exploring the art and tradition of tea. Learn how to prepare and roast tea while discovering the history behind this everyday ritual.
Hojicha is an everyday tea with a distinct personality—warm, comforting, and often overlooked. Its character comes to life when the tea leaves meet fire, transforming their aroma, flavour, and mood.
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore how tea is processed and discover why roasting changes everything. After tasting and comparing a selection of teas, you’ll learn how to use a traditional horoku (焙烙) to roast tea leaves and transform them into hojicha.
Each guest will leave with two servings of their own freshly roasted hojicha to enjoy at home.
Join us for an experience that is part learning, part roasting, and part delicious experimentation.
